Often called a “Texas Troubadour” he was born in Dallas and raised due east in the smallest county in the state, but has also resided in Nebraska for a few years and New York City.
Luedtke has lived in Austin for the last several years, and during this time has played in bands like Roosevelt’s Goody Bag, Honey Baby, and Shane Smith and the Saints, or accompanying someone on guitar. He has been performing solo as well throughout this time and with greater frequency.
His songs are centered around his acoustic guitar and voice. His style and approach to songwriting, in the words of No Depression, “carry the torch of the Texan troubadour forward” and are rooted in folksongs, some of which have survived centuries, as well as the great american songbook.
He was awarded “Best Songwriter” at Viva Terlingua Festival, and has toured around the US with Mother Merey and the Black Dirt, who first took him out on the road, and more recently on his own.
