Black Doves are a cabaret pop band based in Glasgow taking influences from new wave, 60s pop, synth pop and glam rock.

They run the monthly cabaret show ‘Queer Theory’ at Nice n Sleazy which is named after their upcoming debut album ‘An Introduction to Queer Theory.’

The fabulous frontman Jamie Black and multi-instrumentalist Dean Darkie have been writing and recording since they were children growing up in Arbroath. They escaped the humdrum of their lives through music and art. Some of Jamie and Dean’s biggest inspirations include Soft Cell, The B-52’s, Culture Club, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and John Waters films.

“More Hedwig than Scissor Sisters, more disco Bowie than Gloria Gaynor and still more fringe than a bus load of one man shows heading to Edinburgh.” Alex Main – New Hellfire Club

“Totally, totally fabulous” Marc Almond

“Great fun. Can't get much more camp can it?” Jim Gellatly

“The queens would love it” Boy George
