Addicted to electronic club music from its very beginning in the late 80s onwards and championing original DJ culture with all its vinyl, crate digging, whitelabel and dubplate culture a classic setup of two MKII turntables and a mixer are his weapon of choice to rock the crowd to the max.
Influenced by the sound of Depeche Mode, AcidHouse and NuBeat alongside all Techno and Breakbeat derivates to follow in the early 90s baze.djunkiii bought his first records back in 1990 and has been playing way more than 500+ sets since stepping into the public light in 1997.
Having played alongside a wideranged set of internationally renowned artists as different as Air Liquide, Grooverider, Panacea, Sonnenbrandt, Shackleton, Digital Mystikz, Kid Kameleon, La Peste, Mixmaster Morris, Mr.Oizo, Asmus Tietchens, Aaron Spectre, Egotronic, Dr Walker, Frittenbude, Punks Jump Up, Steve Aoki, Tanith or Aquasky in club nights, raves and radioshows all over Germany and in Greek cities like Athens or Thessaloniki baze.djunkiii has always been at the very forefront of the musical spectrum – emphasizing on timeless quality instead of short-lived trends or endless clones of the latest blog hypes.
Coming on strong with the knowledge of not only an excessive vinyl collector backed by a multi-thousands collection but also with the experience of being a record dealer for 15+ years behind the counter of Hamburg's famous Otaku Records store this deep understanding of the scene and its smallest niche structures is what baze.djunkiii's sets are all about – quality [electronic] music.
This background enables him to spin a wide range of sets from Minimal, House and DeepHouse to Grime, Experimental Ambient, Dubstep, UKGarage, Nuskool Breaks, Drum’n’Bass, NuJazz, Breakcore, Elektro, Techno, Downbeat, TripHop, GhettoBass, Broken House, Detroit, any kind of Bass Music and beyond while serving only quality in electronic music, using creative gimmicks and a unique style of rough mixing.
baze.djunkiii even embraced styles like PostPunk, Indie, (No)Wave, SynthPop, ElectroPunk and related styles throughout the last years DJ-wise and stepped out into the world of conceptual art and lyricism with several projects.
Although he never fully turned his head into production throughout all these years in the music business baze.djunkiii has been involved into a few projects focusing on the more genre-bending, experimentalist side of electronic music with tracks released on underground labels like Dhyana Records or Block4. baze.djunkiii also worked on remixes for the Washington-based PostRock-band Ostinato or the German Wave-/Goth-legends NO MORE.
Apart from these doings baze.djunkiii runs his own label Intrauterin Recordings, takes care of his longtime blog nitestylez.de, regularly contributes to other publications and, more recently, started to keep records of contemporary sticker and streetart culture with two freshly launched websites
Furthermore baze.djunkiii works as freelance translator for the film industry, freelance writes for several artists and labels like Audiolith, Upon. You or AdP Records, is closely connected to the Liquid Sky Berlin family and spends his weekly daytime office hours at Superstition Entertainment Network, the company administrating the daily business of labels like Poker Flat Recordings, Dessous Recordings, Trentemøller's In My Room Recordings, hfn music and other renowned imprints.
