This London based outfit have collaborated their vast musical influences to create Bamboo’s unique sound.

The group’s stimuli range from grime artists such as ‘Skepta’, to the rock-funk emphasis of the ‘Red Hot Chilli Peppers’, who are both amongst Bamboo’s collective artist preference along with: ‘Arctic Monkeys’, ‘Led Zeppelin’, ‘Green Day’, ‘Ed Sheeran’, ‘Kanye West’, ‘Jimi Hendrix’, ‘Seth Troxler’, ‘Slipknot’ and many more. The media featured on this page shows the influence of these artists and how they have defined Bamboo’s contemporary and revolutionary sound.

‘Bamboo’ formed as college friends in London, early 2014. Brother’s, Jono and Oliver Fereday (Lead guitarist and Drummer) were left to find new band members after ‘JAG Empire’ - their first band which included Bamboo’s Jordan Nisbett on vocals and Luke Loukadies on bass - split in late 2011. During GCSE music the Fereday brothers met guitarist Chris Chawner, who made the transition from guitar to bass soon after, and vocalist Ethan Smith to form ‘Well Equipped’ along with Callum Johnson on Rhythm guitar and Jordan Nisbett in early 2013. A year later, ‘Well Equipped’ were without a lead vocalist and had heaps of original material they were unable to record and release; after remaining dormant for a few weeks the band called upon ex-bassist Luke Loukadies and developed his voice into that of a lead vocalists to form ‘House of Bamboo’, which was shortened to ‘Bamboo’ later in 2015. ‘Bamboo’ have their debut EP scheduled for release in January 2016.
