Bad Cardigan is an original two-piece alt-folk/acoustic act from East Lancashire, formed in September 2011, comprising Jack Anwyl and Tom Randall (both 21).

The band’s influences are many and diverse…. The Arctic Monkeys, City & Colour, John Frusciante, The Kinks, The Doors, Bon Iver, Alex Turner.
Since forming, Bad Cardigan has played nearly 250 gigs in a host of venues: unplugged in village pubs, small acoustic festivals, as well as main stage in larger venues. In June 2012 they supported The Levellers at their album launch party at The Garage, Islington, and in November were asked to open for them at The Manchester Academy, and the Liverpool O2 Academy, whilst they were on the Northern leg of their 2012 tour. They have supported The Levellers on a number of occasions since then. In January and November 2012 they performed live sets on BBC Introducing in Lancashire, and have had air play since then.
In August 2013, Bad Cardigan played two slots at Beautiful Days Festival, and have played at Lakefest, The Bristol Folk Festival and The Great British Folk Festival in 2014. In October 2015, they supported New Model Army on 4 consecutive nights during their UK tour. In November 2015 they will be supporting The Levellers on a 6 night tour of Holland and Germany.
They play an average of 60 gigs a year in between the demands of full-time work and studies.
