Austerity's sound is a high-octane collision of swaggering bass & drum grooves, scratchy, chaotic guitar and snarling vocals, spitting bile on complex political ideas, but always remaining rooted in everyday life. The band take influence from post-punk bands of the late seventies but also sit well with the recent resurgence of angry political crypto-punk bands such as Sleaford Mods, Idles and Fontaines D.C. They have garnered plaudits for their intense, cathartic live performances and are currently championed by Tom Robinson (BBC Radio 6 Music). With two sold out limited edition mixtapes, a stream of singles, two UK tours, two BBC live sessions and successful shows in NYC, Austerity's trajectory is heading skywards. They also recently secured two album sync tracks in psychological horror film, Saint Maud (Film Four / BFI), directed by rising star Rose Glass, and starring Morfydd Clark and Jennifer Ehle...
