Johnwaynes (House, techno) and Antonio Bastos (fusion of electronics with traditional Portuguese sounds). His last work won the People’s Choice award at the American awards “International Portuguese Music Awards (IPMA)”.
He moves in aesthetic terrains such as jazz, house, funk, traditional Portuguese music, techno and classical, constantly overcoming style barriers with his music.
Also produced soundtracks for theater plays and documentaries, has been invited to participate in the soundtrack competition for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. António has released his debut album “Red Love Blue Love” on internationally renowned labels, which leaded him to festivals such as Lisboa Dance Festival or Bons Sons. Later he focused on the pedagogical side of the album by developing the show: "A Barbie In The House - António Bastos e a Comunidade" - a contemporary artistic fusion with local art communities. In 2020 he released his first original in Portuguese, creating striking sounds with the inclusion of the Portuguese guitar and recently released an album in partnership with the important jazz artist, Jacinta, together with the partnerships of Paulo de Carvalho, Inês Castelo Branco and Mónica Ferraz.
The song from their latest album, “A Formiga no Carreiro (ft. Paulo de Carvalho) - Jacinta & Antonio Bastos” was nominated for two American International Portuguese Music Awards (IPMA) in the categories “People's Choice” and "Traditional", winning the 1st "People's Choice" award at a ceremony in the US city of Providence.
