Brit pop was at its height and the whole of the country was dancing to the tune of Oasis.

Aniseed go against the tend of dour shoe gazing and form a five piece taking threads from all existing genres of music and weaving them into music for the future.
With a rousing reputation for eclectic, exhilarating live performances, Aniseed’s passion for rock and roll, 60′s avant garde and 70′s glam punk, has resulted in the unmistakable and very distinct Aniseed sound, twangy 60′s beach blanket beats, driving guitar riffs and powerful Joe Cocker vocals, or as lead singer Dave Naylor put’s it.”we are like The Doors…meeting Beefheart..transported to the future and forced to adapt”

Aniseed hit London
“Those guy’s f%#€ing rock!!!”……Tommy Vance (disc jockey)
“They’re wicked! They’re going to be really big”…… Thomas Madvig( MTV )
Always ahead of their time , and with a keen interest in new technology . In 1999 Aniseed began building a set for the video for the upcoming release of “Nine Million Miles Away”. having built the futuristic stage set, along with what was supposed to be a” mock up” time machine, Disaster struck, as an un-forecasted electrical storm hit Manchester…in a flash of light, the time machine disappeared …..with Andrew Melchior inside!!!!….. To this day no-one is quite sure what happened exactly…it’s been suggested that Andrew is indeed “Nine Million Miles Away”…but there are multiple theories to which direction he went. To fix this problem, the rest of the band had to wait until new technology evolved, enabling them to replicate their missing keyboard player in virtual form until he hopefully someday returns. As with all new technology, there are some teething problems, the platform for virtual Andrew is a little unstable, causing an intermittent signal loss and sometimes complete disappearance. However, this was enough to get the band working again and to cover the signal loss the band recruited Firouza on additional vocals and Amelia on trombone.

2014 and Aniseed are back, with timeless classics and new material to rock the nation, if not the world.
