Adam Giles Levy Short Info

Featured on BBC Introducing The South, Adam Giles Levy (Guildford, England) presents his debut EP, “Unravelled” recorded at Greenhouse Studios, Vancouver. Four new tracks and an interpretation of Fink’s “Looking Too Closely” with Canadian producer, Alex Gamble (Union Sound Co, Toronto) at the helm. With it’s eerie cello arrangement and infectious vocal hook the title track sets the tone for this folk-rock record.

In 2012, and in search of reinvention Adam quit the law for music. Taking time to transition from the office to the stage Adam moved to Vancouver where he recorded demos, played, listened, learned. Feeling ready Adam landed in Spain, a country he thought he knew well and published “Unravelled”, and toured, and toured. 31 cities, 81 shows in 12 months. Venues like the Sala Barts, Barcelona and the Kafe Antzokia, Bilbao. Winning the award for “Best Vocalist” at the international showcase, “Concurso Pop Rock Villa de Bilbao”, selling out shows in Barcelona and the Basque Country, and being invited to open shows for artists such as William Fitzsimmons (Festival Grec, Barcelona, Spain) along the way.

Adam’s live show is evolving. He’s recovering from an identity crisis. He plays solo, he plays with his trio. That’s what happens when you shed the suit and tie, you try and find what you are, who you were before you conformed. Far from the conventional image of the singer-songwriter, Adam’s music ebbs and flows between powerful soundscapes and fragile intimacy. These are songs with meaning; critical and necessary.

While touring in Spain, “Unravelled” was placed at #3 on indie music publication Mondo Sonoro’s “albums of the month for January/February 2016” and has featured on radio stations such as BBC Surrey, BBC Sussex, RNE Radio 3, Cadena SER , RNE Radio 4, Catalunya Radio, RAC105 and RAC1 and publications including Time Out, Mondo Sonoro, El Periodico and El Correo.
