Oktober veröffentlicht A FUTURISTIC AID das zweite Album „Golden Heavy Body“. Nach einigen Jahren wechselnder „Big Band“ Besetzungen besteht die Gruppe nun nur noch aus Andreas Becker (git + vox), Christian Schmuck (dr) und Kitty, dem Rechner, der ein Lagerhaus voller Synthesizer, Drummachines und Effektgeräte recorded und back played. Die beiden kennen sich vom bildende Kunst studieren in Karlsruhe und haben seitdem bei einer Vielzahl künstlerischer und musikalischer Projekte zusammengearbeitet.!
Musikalisch sind A FUTURISTIC AID schwer einzuordnen, „Ex-Metal Lover spielen Pop Musik“ ist vllt noch die beste Beschreibung. Konstruktivistische Beats, Arpeggiator und Vocoder vermischen sich mit ausgesuchten Indie-Gitarren zu einer fein perlenden Mischung, die erfrischt wie eine Fernet Branca-Schorle aber ebenso ratlos zurücklässt.

Feinperlend geht es auch textlich zu, dort werden Themengebiete wie künstlerische Vereinsamung, künstliche Verknappung und kunstvolle Vereinnahmung verhandelt - gesellschaftliche Anpassung als erzwungener Upgrade.!

On 26. October A FUTURISTIC AID a band based in south western Germany will release their second album „Golden Heavy Body“. After a period of time that the they describe as „The Big Band Years“ the group now consists of just Andreas Becker (git, vox), Christian Schmuck (drums) and Kitty, the computer that records and plays back a warehouse full of synths, drum machines and fx units. The two humans in the band now each other from studying fins arts in the city of Karlsruhe and have ever since worked together on both musical and artistic projects.!
A FUTURISTIC AIDs music is hard to label, Ex-Metal Lovers go Pop might probably be at least a way to describe it. Constructivist beats, arpeggiator and vocoder combined with assorted Indie guitars combine to a sparkling mix, that ́s refreshing like grape soda with Jägermeister but leaves you as puzzled.

Lyric wise it ́s sparkling, too. Topics like artistic isolation, artificial shortage and artful usurpation are d!iscussed - social adaption as a forced upgrade.
