Music was the way to express the experiences he went through and the things he saw through out his life. He fell in love with music after long car rides with his father, always playing 80s music and 90s rap. The name ‘80’ came from his love for 80s music. His style is influenced by artists such as Wretch 32, J Cole, Kano, Ghetts, 2pac, Eminem; who made him a very conscious rapper and articulate with his lyrics. But his love for that upbeat tempo and funky sound, that was is similar to the 80s sound also influenced his style. Artists such as Luther Vandroos, Earth Wind and Fire, Chakka Khan; led him to rapping on instrumentals which are inspired by the funky sound, so he could create songs that people would want to dance to. The aim is to make the perfect blend of lyrical content, crisp flows on top of instrumentals which make people want to have a good time; to make music you can listen to and take in but also just feel and move to. The philosopher in him leads him to always leave a message in all his songs. He has a profound understanding of the world around him and he expresses it through his music.
